NOMINATION FORMS FOR THE INTERCENTRE SHIELD ON THE 10/5/03 ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE HELP DESK TONIGHT. NOMINATIONS CLOSE 2/5/03.

 

COURSES:

 

STOP PRESS: WE HAVE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT HAVE RECEIVED FUNDING TO THE VALUE OF $1400 FROM THE DEPT OF SPORT AND REC TO ASSIST IN THE PARTICIPATION IN THE COURSES.

 

IT APPEARS AS IF THESE COURSES WHICH HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED WILL NOT PROCEED DUE TO LACK OF

NUMBERS.

 

SECONDLY, IF WE CANNOT GET MORE ASSISTANCE IN THESE AREAS THEN WE WILL HAVE TO SCHEDULE TRAINING FOR SPECIFIC AGE GROUPS, FOR EXAMPLE, 6 – 8 IN WEEK 1, 9 – 11 WEEK 2 ETC, WHICH WILL ULTIMATELY LEAD TO THE CHILDREN ONLY TRAINING ONCE A MONTH.

 

THANKYOU TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SHOWN INTEREST BUT WE NEED MORE FOR THE SIZE THAT OUR CENTRE IS, PLUS WE NEED TO PASS ON THE KNOWLEDGE AS THE PEOPLE WHO ARE CURRENTLY DOING THESE JOBS WILL NOT BE AROUND FOREVER.

 

COACHING:

 

Level O “Orientation Only”

–         26th April 2003

–         Cost $95.00

 

Level 1 -  3-5th May 2003

Cost $285.00

 

The Centre will pay for ˝ of the Level 0 and 1 Courses with persons doing the Level 1 receiving a free registration for one child next year.

 

 

Please consider doing one of the courses for coaching to give us some much needed assistance on these nights. Our resources are really stretched to the limit.

 

 

Training Update:

23rd April training will be at the Casuarina Coastal Reserve 5-630pm

 

 

 

We desperately need more assistance in the running of Friday Nights.  Please try and get there a bit earlier to help us out. It is a big task to try and get the night up and running for 200 athletes!!

Your assistance will ensure we start on time and finish at a reasonable time aswell.

 

 

Intercentre Shield

Round 2 will be held in Katherine on the weekend of the 31st May 2003 from 1 – 6pm.

 

It is a great day so make sure that you come along so that we can get a step closer to the trophy for the most points at the end of year.

 

A bus will be available at a cost of $25.00 per head, please let the help desk know if you are interested so we can book if necessary.

 

 

NORTH QUEENSLAND:

 

WE REQUIRE A FUNDRAISER CONVENOR FOR OUR CENTRE’S AHTLETES TO ARRANGE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE NTH QLD TRIP FOR 2003. THE AIM IS TO FLY THIS YEAR SO IT IS ESTIMATED THAT EACH ATHLETE WILL REQUIRE APPROX $1200

EACH TO PARTAKE. WE HAVE RECEIVED FUNDS FROM ANGLOGOLD OF $1875 TO HELP KICK START THE FUND BUT NEED THE PARENTS OF THE 12 AND UP AGE GROUP TO HELP COMPLETE THE TASK.
