Rural Athletics Centre AGM 26/04/03. Fred¹s Pass Athletics Arena.

1.0 Meeting opened at 11.30am.
      All present were welcomed by out going President Paul Harris.    

2.0 Present: Paul Harris, Simon Saunders, Jude Sherley, Geoff Smith, Gerry Wood, Kelly Taylor, Michael Taylor, Louise Evans, Tracey Shepherd, Darren Pickering, Megan Pickering, Theresa Murch, Darren Murch, Rose Gerlach, Ian Lesson, Brian Thetford, Sandra Thetford, Fred Munro, Leanne Ladlow, Paul Mitchener, Daria Mitchener and Lisa O¹Donoghue, Country Services Director, representing the NTA.

2.1 Apologies: Elaine Holmes.

3.0 Minutes of previous AGM 2002 were unavailable to be presented as the only copy is with the bank and the electronic copy was lost due to virus in Secretary¹s computer.

4.0 Business arising: Nil.

5.0 Finance report tabled: As per attached sheet. Note that financial report does not contain canteen money as this information was not available from outgoing Treasurer at the time of AGM. Full report to be published in the next edition of the Rural Runner.

6.0 President's Report tabled: A stirring and most comprehensive report and is attached. Report accepted. Moved by Fred Munro. Seconded: Leanne Ladlow.

9.0 General Business:

9.1 All the assistant coaches want to do a level 0 coaching course as well Emma Mitchener and Eliza Wilson. Follow this through with Cherry Harvey about running a course at Rural.

9.2 Daria to action Discussion of food at canteen and if sausages were a viable alternative to the bacon and eggs. Sausages cheaper and less time consuming. Decision to stay with bacon and eggs as they are the healthier and canteen coordinator to enlist more volunteers.

9.3 Paul Harris informed the committee that at the last NTA Clubs Council meeting there is a strong movement against walks events in under 10 age groups due to strains and stresses on growing bodies. General discussion by committee. Motion by Darren Murch ³That there be no walks events for any children in the RAC club in the 10 years and under age groups. Only 11 years and up to do walks.² Motion seconded by Ian Lesson and carried. Paul Harris directed to take our decision to the next NTA Clubs Council meeting.

9.4 Darren Murch put the motion forward to set up a training session for Parents in correct technique and measurement of each event, to be done by Mitch each Saturday Morning while the assistant coaches warm up the athletes. One event per week. Seconded by Geoff Smith and carried.

9.5 Instability of shade structure was raised. As a temporary measure Brian Thetford will cost bracing the ends of the structure.

9.6 Leanne Ladlow informed the committee of the Harvey Norman sausage sizzle fund raising BBQ. H/N supply all equipment and food stuffs all you need to bring is the people. Daria to action.
